While the article links attributes this syndrome to prior covid infection, it is surprising and tragic that this first pediatric death from MIS-C in the area occurred in a population that is now highly vaccinated. I am very sorry for this child's family and respect their right to medical privacy, but more details about whether or not this child had been vaccinated (and how recently) might serve others. I am not sure if the case belongs in your database or whether we have seen any cases of MIS-C post-vaccination.

I know a fully vaccine-free child who got MIS-C. Otherwise a healthy kid. Don't know what mom used to treat illness. I'm not in a position to ask because that sounds too much like blaming the mother for Tylenol plus Ibufrophen plus Elderberry plus, plus, plus. They did recover.

It is also why all parents absolutely must find out when these vaccine clinics are occurring at their child's school, and then keep their child home on those days. Regrettably, the schools can no longer be trusted to respect the wishes of parents with regard to vaccination or, quite frankly, anything else.
It's also true that zero healthy children died of covid. The very few cases of covid deaths that made it to the news included kids with hundreds of seizures a day or who were morbidly obese. Still awful for the family, but not a reason to covid vaccinate all kids. Choice for kids who are il..

It can only be from the vaccine. Viruses are not relevant.
