An Open Letter to Gov. DeSantis Re: SADS
Florida maintains a statewide registry of vaccinated residents. It can easily conduct a vaxxed vs. unvaxxed study of sudden death and other major health events. I am asking the governor to do so.
Note To Readers: Below is my open letter to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. I am asking the governor to immediately begin mining data from Florida’s statewide vaccine registry to compare sudden death and other major medical problems in vaccinated vs. unvaccinated Floridians. If you support this request, please share it far and wide so that we can increase the chance the governor sees it. Thank you!
June 27, 2022
Office of Governor Ron DeSantis
State of Florida
The Capitol
400 S. Monroe St.
Tallahassee, FL 32399-0001
Dear Governor DeSantis:
I am writing to urge you to use your statewide registry of Floridians who have taken the Covid-19 vaccine to immediately launch a full-scale investigation of health outcomes in vaccinated vs. unvaccinated adults and children.
According to the CDC, Florida is one of 27 states that maintains a registry of all residents who receive the Covid-19 injections.1 Any doctor, nurse, pharmacist, or other healthcare provider in Florida who administers Covid-19 shots must report to the state registry each vaccine recipient’s name, age, home address, dose number, and type of vaccine received.
Governor, you must understand that your state’s decision to maintain such a registry threatens patient privacy and invites abuse. Even if your administration has no plans to use this data to discriminate against the unvaccinated, future administrations may be inclined to do so.
What I am proposing to you today is a way to turn this obvious negative into a positive, by using your state’s powerful database to conduct desperately needed vaccinated vs. unvaccinated comparisons of the rates of all-cause mortality, sudden death, heart attack, myocarditis, stroke, blood clots, neurological disorders, and psychiatric disorders, as well as shingles, monkeypox, and meningitis — all of which appear to be on the rise since 2021.
Is this sudden surge in serious health problems occurring in both the vaccinated and unvaccinated, or is it disproportionately affecting the vaccinated, as some of us suspect?
There is no need for endless speculation on this question. It can be answered in short order, using the database of vaccinated residents that your state has diligently maintained.
I am not asking you to break the law, Governor. I’m merely asking that you take advantage of the powerful tools at your disposal to conduct urgently needed research, while adhering strictly to the letter of the law and respecting patient privacy.
Governor DeSantis, as you know, Florida currently is the only state in the U.S. not recommending the Covid-19 vaccine for children. My readers and I enthusiastically applaud you for your courage in taking a strong stance against giving experimental mRNA to children. We hope and pray that others will follow your lead. At this moment, you seem to be the only governor who is willing even to acknowledge that these vaccines can cause harm.
Meanwhile, every day we hear reports of previously healthy adults with no serious underlying health conditions who have passed away suddenly without explanation. This disturbing phenomenon, which public health officials call Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), is occurring — along with many other catastrophic medical emergencies in previously healthy adults of all ages — not just in the U.S. but in numerous other nations.2
The one factor that all of these nations have in common is their hasty implementation of mass vaccination campaigns using the experimental Covid-19 injections from Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and/or AstraZeneca.
Some officials point out that SADS has always been with us. Even so, such cases must have been extremely rare prior to 2021, since most of us were not aware of them. They are not rare anymore.
These sudden unexplained deaths are happening in children as well. In my Substack newsletter, titled Kids, Covid, and Covid Vaccines, I have kept a running tally of cases that make headlines.3
Besides these disturbing news stories, the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is overflowing with heartbreaking testimonials. To date VAERS has logged more deaths from the Covid-19 vaccines than all other vaccines combined since the surveillance system was launched in 1990. 4
In addition to the stunning number of deaths linked to Covid-19 vaccines, the VAERS database — which has been found to under-report vaccine adverse reactions by a factor of 100 — currently attributes to the Covid-19 shots more than:
29,000 deaths
164,000 hospitalizations
130,000 urgent care visits
54,000 permanent disabilities
42,000 cases of myocarditis/pericarditis
41,000 severe allergic reactions
15,000 cases of Bell’s Palsy
14,000 heart attacks
14,000 cases of shingles5
Among these, VAERS has captured tens of thousands of reports of serious neurological injuries as well as blood clots and strokes in connection with the Covid-19 vaccines.
In response to a Freedom of Information Act request submitted by Children’s Health Defense, the CDC made the stunning admission last week that it has not analyzed the VAERS data for Covid-19 vaccine safety signals.6 The agency apparently has no plans to do so!
While aggressively ignoring all vaccine injury data in VAERS, the CDC is using the data from Florida and 26 other states to compare Covid infection and death rates in the vaccinated vs. unvaccinated. For months the CDC referenced this data, which was shrouded in secrecy and not available for public inspection, when claiming that the U.S. was suffering a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
The data has since been published. It shows the number of vaccinated Americans dying from Covid increased steadily beginning in the fall of 2021. By Week Four of April 2022 (the latest week for which mortality data are published), Americans who received at least two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine comprised 60 percent of Covid deaths relative to the unvaccinated.7
Clearly, the Covid-19 vaccines do not stop infection, and their ability to reduce Covid hospitalization or death is short-lived at best. At the same time, the CDC refuses to quantify the risks from the shots, making it impossible for Americans to conduct a true risk-benefit analysis for themselves, their employees, their students, or their children.
Governor, you can quickly remedy this situation simply by making good use of the mountain of data at your disposal.
A true assessment of the risks of these mRNA injections is urgently needed. Many Americans continue to be threatened with job loss or dismissal from school if they refuse not just the primary vaccine series but any available booster shots. Meanwhile, Pfizer’s CEO is promising to churn out Covid-19 boosters annually,8 and the FDA currently is finalizing a plan to bypass all future clinical trials for reformulated Covid-19 shots.9 The public therefore will have no data at all with which to evaluate either the safety or efficacy of any future Covid mRNA injections. Each FDA-authorized “booster” will be mandated for a significant subset of the population, including children.
So, as you can see, there is no end in sight to what for too many Americans has become a dystopian nightmare.
Governor, simply by pursuing the unfettered truth about this unprecedented experiment you can become a hero to tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people around the world.
Now more than ever, the world needs leaders who are not afraid to follow the data wherever it may lead. You have given us reason to hope that you are such a leader.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Darby Shaw

This is a great idea. A friend and I were discussing the legality of the state accessing or even using (via the third party health provider) patient's private medical records. She suggested that since Florida maintains their autopsy records, "...they can match vaxxed and suspected injury, and gross up, de-identified." She adds, "And every death is accounted for by cause and secondary cause - that’s an easy match to vax records. Autopsies not even necessary" Is there any way you can revise the letter to include this as a suggestion? My friend also notes that there are plenty of volunteers who would sign NGA's in order to help DiSantis organize and execute the effort
Great letter Darby Shaw.
